What it does

In plain words.

Receive stock as traceable lots with supplier, batch code and the right kind of date, then pick the earliest eligible lot first. Hold unsafe or returned goods until they are reviewed, trace an affected batch through sales and returns, and prepare recall evidence that shows its own gaps.

Who it is for

A good fit for your shop?

  • Food, pet food and cosmetics retailers managing dated stock
  • Shops that need to trace a supplier batch through sales and returns
  • Teams receiving goods into more than one location
What you get

From receiving to recall evidence

Lots with the right kind of date

Record supplier, batch code, quantity, location and whether the date is best before, use by, manufacturer expiry, after opening or no date. The printed code never replaces the internal lot identity.

Earliest eligible lot first

Recommendations respect location, holds, recalls and the minimum shelf life you need at dispatch. Staff confirm the lots actually picked and record a reason when they differ.

Hold, release and dispose with evidence

Move units into held stock, release them only with inspection evidence, or dispose of held units without a second deduction. Returned goods with a known lot stay held until inspected.

Trace and quarantine a recall

Search by supplier and batch code to find lots, confirmed sales, possible sales and returns. Quarantine the exact scope, including reserved units, and export recall evidence with its coverage gaps.

Near-date reviews and sector rules

Review stock nearing its date against reviewed demand and prepare markdown, transfer or disposal proposals for approval. Record your own policies for food, pet feed and cosmetics; the plugin grants no automatic legal permission.

Physical counts with a second check

Pause new promises for one product, record every observed lot and have a different receiver approve the correction. Held goods cannot be released by offsetting a count.

In practice

A recall that admits what it does not know

A supplier recalls one batch. Search by supplier and code to find its lots and confirmed picks, while sales recorded before lot tracking stay as possible matches. Quarantine the exact scope, including units already reserved, and export evidence that lists missing reconciliation and channel coverage.

In practice

Best before is not use by

Past use-by stock stays held. Past best-before stock also stays held unless an approver applies one of your recorded sector policies with a review interval and an overdue-day limit. The original date is kept through every transfer and amendment.

How it works

Start with one useful test.

  1. Receive or identify lots

Record lots on receipt, or assign existing store stock to lots without adding it again. Unknown dates stay held until identified.

  2. Pick and hold

Reserve the earliest eligible lots for an order, confirm the actual picks and hold anything that needs review.

  3. Trace and act

Search an affected batch, quarantine its scope and prepare recall evidence, near-date proposals or a reviewed count.

Before you buy

Requirements.

These details describe the Botble edition. Check the platform, services and equipment your shop uses.

  • Botble and WooCommerce use separate native packages. These requirements describe Botble; WooCommerce requirements are listed separately below.
  • The Botble edition requires Botble CMS 7.6.0 or later with Ecommerce active, plus All Operations Core, which is included in the download and installed first.
  • Store stock changes need a reviewed stock-ownership setting for each product and whole base units. Review locations record lots without changing store stock.
  • Labels are internal PDFs for manual lot entry. GS1 barcodes, scanner hardware and channel listing updates during a recall are not included.

Requirements

Native WooCommerce edition.

  • Package requirements: WordPress 6.5+, PHP 8.1+ and active WooCommerce.
  • Use WordPress and PHP versions that meet the requirements of both this plugin and your installed WooCommerce version.
  • Requires the All Operations Core WooCommerce edition, installed and activated first.
  • Store stock changes need a reviewed stock-ownership setting for each product or variation and whole base units. Labels are internal PDFs; GS1 decoding and scanner hardware are not included.
  • Use transactional InnoDB storage and working WordPress cron.

Getting started

  1. Review stock ownership for one product, then receive or identify a test lot with its date class.
  2. Reserve and pick the recommended lot for a test order, then hold and release a unit with evidence.
  3. Run a recall search and a reviewed count on a copy of the shop before using lot records live.

Perpetual licences include 12 months of updates and support. After that, extend them a year at a time for £110 a year, whenever you like, even before the current year ends. Monthly and yearly plans always include updates and support.

  • Monthly is term use: the plugin, its updates and support for each month you pay for.
  • Yearly is the same term use paid in advance, at ten months' price for twelve months.
  • A perpetual licence is yours to keep. It includes 12 months of updates and support; afterwards you can carry on using every version you were entitled to, and extend updates and support a year at a time at the support rate (half the standard yearly price) whenever you want them.
  • One licence covers one live site and its linked staging site. Another live site needs another licence.
  • Buy more than one perpetual licence in the same checkout and the highest-priced plugin is charged in full, with 20% off each additional distinct plugin, worked out on the prices shown (launch prices while the offer runs).
  • Extend support for several perpetual licences together and the highest-priced extension is charged in full, with 20% off each additional one. Extending early adds a year to the end of your current cover; nothing renews automatically.
  • Prices include applicable VAT/sales tax and the support stated for your plan. GBP is the reference currency. Marketplace accounts, hosting, hardware and external API fees are separate. We add no payment processing surcharge.

Questions

Useful details before you choose.

The workflow, its limits and what is separate.

Still need a hand?
Does it read expiry dates from barcodes?

No. Lot details are entered manually, and internal labels carry a lookup token. An ordinary product barcode is never treated as if it contained a batch or date.

Does a recall notify customers or marketplaces?

No messages or channel updates are sent. You can record prepared notices and staff-evidenced sends, and the evidence export states that no channel update was performed.

Can I move stock between locations?

Yes. Record dispatch when goods leave and arrival when they reach the destination, including partial arrivals and returns in transit. Recall and expiry checks can hold goods on arrival.

Can a lot be split or merged?

A lot can be split at the same location, keeping its original identity, dates and cost. Mixing lots into a new one is not supported.
